Director:  David Bell

Kris Wittry is a lifelong musician, excited to be working with the GoldenConcert Choir. She majored in flute performance at the University of Utah and graduated from Regis University, summa cum laude. Ms. Wittry is also the collaborative pianist since its inception in 2018. She has been a pianist at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish in Denver for 22 years and has been the organist at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Denver for several years. She has taught pre-kindergarten through eighth grade music and has led the school choir at Annunciation Catholic School for ten years. She has performed with Mullen High School, West High School, University Park Elementary School, Most Precious Blood Catholic School, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, Guardian Angels Catholic School, and Summit Academy, as accompanist to Broadway musical productions and band, orchestra, and choir concerts. She formerly was the organist at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Highlands Ranch. She has taught flute and piano lessons throughout the metro area for many years. In her spare time, she enjoys flyfishing, trap shooting, and hunting and cooking wild game with friends and family.

CHOIR REHEARSAL

David Bell has been Music Director and Conductor of the Golden Concert Choir since 2007. A native of and living in Denver, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Colorado College, earning the David and Karen Smith Cowperthwaite Prize for Excellence in Music. He then moved to Boston, where he attended New England Conservatory and received a Master of Music with honors, as well as a Graduate Diploma, studying composition with an emphasis in conducting. He has also recently founded and directs Gaudete, a sacred music chamber choir in Denver. As a composer, Mr. Bell has written works for a variety of ensembles, both choral and instrumental, and for solo voice and instruments. He received a grant from the State of Massachusetts for a chamber work that was included in a Contemporary Composers concert. He has been commis- sioned for several works, including a piece for mezzo soprano and string orchestra, works for Native American flute, instrumental works, and choral works. The Golden Concert Choir premiered his Elegy in December of 2010 and his Sunrise in 2018.
